BigCommerce is a great tool for simplifying online shopping needs. It provides a certain level of customization, but at a certain point I found myself having to go into the guts of the code, and make customizations. An eCommerce website built on the CMS Big Commerce. When working with pre-built solutions, the challenge is when the client wants a solution that the content management system can’t inherently do. Many changes were made to the template files, much like creating a custom WordPress theme, some jQuery was added to move elements to places where the Client wanted but the CMS didn’t offer without customization. Site was integrated with their payment solution provider, Adwords and Analytics were added, and WordPress was integrated. Sometimes a company will do a seperate domain for their WordPress blog, but I had it integrated into the site by customizing the code to have more of a streamlined experience.
